Afarin & David Married | DTLA

When the bride informs you one of their unofficial hashtags for the wedding is #DavidStopCrying (David being the groom)– you know you’re in for a good one! It made us laugh at first, but in all honestly we are huge softies– and loved every minute of it! There is nothing we love more than those magical moments that bring a person to tears from pure overwhelming happiness. I mean come on, bring on the love, happiness and waterworks! Getting to witness and freeze many of those moments from Afarin and David’s wedding was as wonderful as it sounds. They were given the perfect “after rain” Los Angeles day, with only a bit of worry that the rain might throw a wrench in their outdoor wedding. Thankfully the groom is a weather app connoisseur, and was monitoring all weather changes! The venue, Millwick, is set in heart of The Arts District in DTLA, surrounded by urban LA at it’s finest– murals, breweries, art galleries, pop up coffee shops and hipster filled restaurants. Settled behind the gate of Millwick you are transported to a lush/tropical oasis that served as the backdrop for their heartfelt, and yes, tear filled nuptials.

The bride’s brother, Amin, officiated the wedding and did an incredible job telling the couple’s love story. Flawlessly making their ceremony theirs. It was sincere, funny and light-hearted at times and deep and meaningful when it counted. Directly following the ceremony, the couple signed the marriage license in a small dressing room surrounded by their Best Man and Matron of Honor (who happen to be married to each other) and Amin their officiant and brother– all signatures occurring while they shared their celebratory first glass of champagne as husband and wife.

There is nothing quite like roaming the streets of DTLA during the golden hour with newlyweds, moments after they become husband and wife. This golden hour did not disappoint, we snapped some of the most incredible photos, it was absolute magic! We were surprisingly enticed by a kind passerby to skip the reception to come watch Carlos Santana perform at a small venue down the street, but we politely declined 😉 The night concluded with an epic dance party and the bride’s favorite pizza–Dominos! We couldn’t be happier for these two, who are genuinely two of the nicest people we have ever met. Cant wait to see what the next chapter hold for you guys!

Here is a look at some of the highlights from their day.
